Inspiration & Material
Sometimes it only takes a little: opening a fairy tale book, playing a word game, writing a dictation “just for fun,” or watching an evening cartoon and, for a moment, feeling at home again.
When we live far from the borders of the Czech Republic, language becomes a bridge. A bridge to grandparents, to literature, to humor, to the delicate shades of expressions like “no jo” and “však víš.” It carries memories, identity, and belonging across countries and generations.
That is why, at Czech School Stockholm, we decided it would be helpful to have everything gathered in one place. Clear. Thoughtfully organized. Smartly designed. With lightness, but never lightly. A space where children can strengthen their Czech with confidence, where parents can find support, and where anyone can rediscover the joy of their mother tongue.
We are deeply grateful to all the organizations, teachers, linguists, and enthusiasts who create high-quality materials and so often make them available free of charge. Your work truly matters — even here in the North. 🤍
